Plumbing Companies

Plumbing companies vary in size, in the areas they service, and in the services they specialize in. Some specialize in residential plumbing services, while other speciliaze in commercial plumbing. The plumbing industry is highly regulated – building codes vary from state to state and even on the city level – requiring that plumbing follow certain standards. If you are in the market for a plumber to fix that leaky faucet or that perpetually running toilet, you will generally have two options at your disposal: a local/regional plumber, or a plumber working with or associated with a regional chain or franchise. While it would be nearly impossible to talk about every city’s regional plumbers, here we will talk about a few of the larger national chains.

Roto-Rooter
Roto Rooter was founded in 1935 and is the largest provider of plumbing services in the United States. The company operates more that one hundred (100) company-owned branches and independent contractor territories and around five hundred (500) independent franchise operations. Its said that around 90% of the residents in the United States have local access to Roto Rooter service. With franchises in all US states, including Alaska, you will likely find one convenient to where you are. They provide FREE estimates for their work, and are regarded as one of the best plumbing companies in the United States. The brand has grown internationally into parts of Canada, China, Indonesia, the U.K., Mexico, Philippines, Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Roto-Rooter offers both residential and commercial services.

Regional Plumbers
Most plumbers, as opposed to Roto-Rooter, are regional and service only a particular city, or state. Some have expanded services into surrounding states, but you will find that most plumbing companies serve a limited area. A good way to discover plumbing companies would be to search google. Google will automatically filter the results and show companies in your area. You can also read reviews written by past and present customers.
